About Sarah

Sarah Ruggier is a teacher and counsellor with a simple goal: to facilitate a person’s journey towards becoming their full and free selves. Sarah is wholeheartedly grateful for her experiences completing a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology at the University of British Columbia. She is passionate about and has developed her skills in the areas of mental health, child and adolescent development, and healing from traumatic experiences. She devotes her time at Signal Hill to developing creative and approachable educational programs that promote authenticity, self-acceptance, and identity formation.

More and more children are being diagnosed with anxiety. In fact, according to a recent study, anxiety is the number one mental health concern affecting children and adolescents. During this talk we will explore the various signs of childhood anxiety, learn about brain development in children, and focus on how the quality of connection and relationship between parents and their children may play a role in resolving this issue.
